Diana we learned on the evening news is a wonderfully gifted Mexican without papers, or a Social Security number who lives in Illinois as an illegal immigrant. She is a senior in high school in that state. Her parents likewise are illegal's also without papers, SS numbers etc. Her mother is employed in a fast food restaurant, her father works construction. They don't, due to their status pay taxes. Diana has been in America since she was five years old, having enjoyed her entire education through HS at our expense. The family has not paid one cent of taxes since they came here. She, her parents and PBS seem put out that she does not qualify for a college scholarship, tuition support, or a college education at the expense of American taxpayers. When my sons graduated we were informed that our income was such that there was no possibility of getting any scholarship or for that matter any financial help. We, as a family did without many things others had to send our kids to college. When I was 16 I lived in San Miguel De Allede, Guanajuaro Mexico, I was attending as part of my HS education a branch of the university of Mexico called Instituto Allende. My father paid my tuition, not the Mexican government or people. We had no health care unless we paid for it. The Mexican government offered us no services of any kind or type. We paid for books materials, teachers lodging everything. The police, courts, as well as the people discriminated against us whenever they thought they could get away with it. Don't get me wrong I love the Mexican people; they are among the most friendly, charming people in the world. And are perfectly right not to pay anything for foreigners. So, damn it, are we! Now along comes Senator Orin Hatch offering new federal legislation on education, you all know how that works morons like Hatch make a law, which then becomes a mandate, that is played for not by the morons who made the law but by the local school district, in other words you and me. This makes Senator moron feel good and allows him thereafter to pander to the Latino vote. Have no fear congress is right behind this issue called D.R.E.A.M. another stupid anachronism we don't need. Congressman Ed Avacejo from Illinois has offered legislation to support this grievous legislation, naturally also on our coat tales, he's a Latino himself so he panders all the Hispanic votes at every possible opportunity. I have some great neighbors here in Florida. They are Puerto Rican. They not only are citizens but both of them, the father and mother, literally work their butts off to support themselves and to send their daughter to private education. They pay taxes, have social security numbers and are good outstanding citizens. They are also paying for the above moochers. I have other friends, who are Croatian, Swiss, and from the Orient all of them pay their own way, pay taxes, and have SS numbers. Illinois, we learn, has between 3,000 and 4,000 students who our wonderful congressman Ed would like to have scholarships provided for at our expense. Well let's examine this issue further, America has as of 2003, 14.7 million illegal immigrants, most from Central America. Based on their birth rates, which are just about double of the rest of us. That would mean we would be paying for about 6 million children's total education from K-college in the next 20 year. You guess what that will cost. Naturally this does not take into account that with our wonderful Homeland Security we will surely inherit another 14 million illegal's over that time frame. Since 9-11 extraordinary expenses have been accumulated by our government. $15 billion for AIDS in sub Sahara Africa, $ 15 billion in foreign aid to Israel. $ 28 billion in aid to Turkey. $4 billion more in military aid to Israel. $1 billion in aid to the UN for AIDS help. Then George's Crusade in Iraq will wind up costing about $ 500 million initially and well over $ 10 billion over the next ten years. The average American family as of this date pays 49.55% in taxes, fees, licenses, permits, and access fees. We are rapidly approaching the point where it will be viable to stay at home and accept state largess rather than working. Total amounts used to beef up border protection on the Mexican border are less than they spent on the Canadian border. Hey, we don't want to be accused of racial profiling, heaven forbid. That's why the new government employee idiots we hire for airport security are constantly searching 85-year-old Caucasian grandmothers. It's just my opinion, am I wrong?
