This essay is dedicated to Rose Oertli who was a close personal friend and member of the allied intelligence community during the war OSS the forerunner of the CIA, and to my uncle Kaspar Krieg who was in intelligence on the Swiss side. (both deceased) Much of the below information came from them. The quantity of misinformation about the holocaust, and Swiss financial involvement with the Third Reich has attained such mass, that a reasonable response is necessitated. Many bad thing occur in any war, the Second World War was no exception. Unfortunately from a historical perspective large portions of this turbulent time in history has been severely distorted by two factors; war propaganda by both the allies and the axis powers makes research difficult, and the fact that all sides of the conflict the Soviets, the Axis, and the Western Allies, produced forgeries of documentation, money, and even science does not help either. Soviet uncooperation in releasing German documents and information after the war, plus a huge miss-information campaign, is another factor. And secondly by a group of greed inspired individuals who are presently intent upon reaping a profit, through extortion out of the misery of that war. That group to date consist only of Jews.[1] Both the Axis as well as the Western Allies considered God was on their side, contrary to Western propaganda the Nazis had a very good relationship with the Vatican as well as most Protestant denominations. The fact that Switzerland, who was and remains to this day neutral , was intellectually on the side of the Western alliance can not be disputed. American intelligence, as well as that of all the allies was allowed to operate without hindrance,(with the exception not to spy on Switzerland) in fact Allen Dulles [OSS] [CFR] [2] head of American intelligence operated out of Bern Switzerland thorough most of the conflict, and worked closely together with Swiss intelligence. Some reasonable proofs of allied involvement in the holocaust which is readily available to anyone interested follows. It is a fact that the Nazis attempted to expel Jews out of Germany beginning in the early 1930ies. It is also a fact that not one of the later to be allied nations accepted any but an token amount of Jews for immigration into their countries. A case in point is the Polish Jewish situation. The Poles under the Pilsudski [3] government pushed large numbers of Jews, ( well over two million) out of Poland. Many settled in the Weimar Republic ( Germany) principally in Berlin and Hamburg. Hamburg had in previous history been a member of the Hanseatic League which had a very enlightened policy for Jews. The Germans under the National Socialist Party (NSP) attempted to return these immigrants to Poland. The Polish government then passed a law in 1938 that if you had been out of Poland for over three years you needed a special stamp in your passport in order to return. This stamp was issued by Polish legations, and was unavailable to Jews, who thus became people without papers. The Nazi Gestapo 14 under Heydrich [4] attempted to resettle these Jews to East Africa, Madagascar, and then every western nation, he was blocked at every instance. The British government made every possible effort to prevent Jewish emigration to Palestine. This is yet another indisputable fact. It was British policy to allow no emigration of Jews to the middle east, in order to prevent hostility by Arabs. This policy was in fact exercised from 1937 onward until after the creation of the state of Israel. In 1937 Heinrich Mueller then a general in the Gestapo secured immigration permission for 936 Jews to Cuba. The Nazi government purchased charter passage for all 936 on the Hambug-Amerika line a passenger ship St. Louis. The ship sailed in May 13, 1939. The American Government under FDR promptly contacted the Cuban government demanding that all landing permits be canceled. After some negotiations the captain of the ship Gustav Schroeder knowing his passengers perilous position attempted to land them in America. Under direct orders from FDR the Coast Guard prevented the St. Louis from landing anywhere in North America, and when fuel became a critical problem Schroeder was forced to return to Europe.[5] The rest you know. There are literally hundreds of cases where what later became the members of the Western Alliance turning away all refugees Jewish, Gypsy, or whatever. Switzerland with a meager population of under 6 million, in a nation totally unable to sustain it's own population with their own food production took in 30,000 Jews. Furthermore over 225,000 Jews escaped Germany into Switzerland, and from there went on to other states. By percentage that is more than any other nation in the world. Switzerland accepted just over 300,000 total refugees, this equates to 1/22 of the countries entire population. Had America under FDR accepted , by percentage of population, the same number of people it would have been 7 million. All of the current discourse about this time in history completely negate the geographic and political situation in which Switzerland was in the war. Switzerland was the only nation in Europe completely surrounded by a hostile to them Nazi power. Austria had been annexed [6], France was defeated, Italy was part of the Axis. While surrounded Switzerland continued to trade with the allies to the tune of SFr. 4 billion, of mostly high-tech mechanical devices. Swiss industry gave licenses to American and British firms to produce Swiss designed armaments. (the Oerlikon Gun per example) On more than one occasion a full fledged invasion was in planning [7] political hostilities included an all German media attack on Swiss newspapers, Radio, and all governmental functions. Numerous other neutrals had been invaded. The Swiss appointed, a from the French part of Switzerland general, as commander in chief a man known world wide as a strong opponent of Nazi Germany. Not only were we surrounded but numerous other nations were Nazi sympathizers.[8] Hitler even had a nice little poem which I remember being broadcast daily; " Und Die Schweiz das Stachelschwein nemen wir zum Frueschtuck ein." [9] Switzerland was an island of freedom in a sea of fascism, the only such nation in Europe. For this we paid a considerable price. I was born in 1938 and do not recall seeing my father, until after the war, he as all my uncles, and all my friends fathers were in the army. When my mother joined the civil defense corps, as numerous Swiss mothers did, I and most of my friends were shipped to Swiss farms, 15 where we were expected and in fact did help planting harvesting and whatever had to be done. This bring us to the latest lie a product of the Jewish Simon Wiesenthal Center of Los Angeles CA. [10] The Wiesenthal Center sated that Jews were singled out and placed in internment camps, and actulaly forced to work. First most refugees were placed in internment camps, housing in Switzerland was unable to accommodate that many refugees, there were many thousands of non-Jewish refugees also. Second everyone had to work with most men in the military and a large percentage of the female population in civil defense and even school children employed as farm labor, loafing was not an option. All internees had access to all of society, none of the camps were fenced, numerous internees attended ETH, [11] an option that was made available at no cost to them. While many attended university, they were protected by Swiss men who could not enjoy a higher education due to military service. While my father and all my male relatives were in the army, and my mother in civil defense, and I as a boy of 5 was on a farm picking potatoes, the Wiesenthal center informs that Jews should not have been forced to work. I was personally bombed twice once in Zurich by the Americans who thought they were attacking Stuttgart over 100 miles to the south. And once by the Italians in Tichino.[12] Unlike Holland, Denmark, France and other European nations there were very few Nazi sympathizers in Switzerland. The sole and only reason that Hitler did not invade Switzerland was because of the Swiss Militia. The Swiss army of the 1930ies and 40ies consisted of 300,000 regulars and 200,000 home guard, this with a population of 5.6 million. Every bridge, tunnel, RR crossing, and factory was mined with explosives. All of the low country and all choke points were equipped with dragon teeth[13] and fortifications. Clinton's idle is FDR the communist [14] while Hillary's idle is Eleanor FDR's lesbian wife [14]. Both Clinton and FDR talk a good game, but both are wanting when it comes to meaningful action. The similarities between the two is astounding. Historically present actions by the American government are astounding, when one considers the acts of the Roosevelt administration from 1939 to 1941 in violation of, at that time, America's neutrality in the conflict. The present American administration has been using Stuart Eizenstat [16] in their support of the WJC (World Jewish Council) in efforts to extort funds from numerous sources for their Jewish political allies. He has been particularly active in postulating the theory that all neutrals of the second world war are guilty of not doing enough to help the Jews. What the WJC and their allies have in fact done is to create an international extortion consortium for the sole purpose of self-enrichment. Currently not satisfied with the billions in reparations from Germany [17] they have begun a huge fishing expedition to locate new sources of money. Not to be left out is the State of Israel who's envoy Yoram Dori, as well as their prime minister have been outspoken supporters of this extortion. With a virtual lock on American media by Jewish interests, it is impossible for the Swiss or anyone targeted by Jewish interests to obtain a fair hearing. Not to be missed is New York Senator ® Alphonse D'Amato, an Italian American ( Italy was part of the Axis) who running for re-election in 1998 and is courting the Jewish vote in New York by leveling dozens of passed history charges, all of which were public information 30 years ago. Now that they appear to have succeeded 16 with extortion [18] of Swiss banks they and their ally D'Amato are after insurance carriers many of whom are settling. Assicurazioni Generali the Italian carrier has agreed to $ 100 million; outstanding additional are Allianz of Germany, AXA of France, Winterthur, Basler of Switzerland. The political bandwagon for the extortion exercise has now been entered by numerous state regulatory agencies, as well as others, all of which smell money: State insurance commissioners of Florida, New York, and California, the World Jewish Restitution Organization, the Conference for Jewish Material Claims against Germany , etc.. One of the principal complaints against the Swiss is that as a neutral they did not do enough. Over 30 Swiss citizens were shot for collaborating/spying on Switzerland, while Paris fell without one shot being fired. French police were used by the Nazis to round up Jews, and the Swiss did not do enough. In fact it can be clearly stated that all the attacks on Switzerland, from the allied side, are directed by people who 50 years ago were exploiting better ways to kill one-another. The act of attempting to collect funds from a non-belligerent in a military act is unprecedented in world history. Never before has this happened. In view of the numerous dark occurrences of the war by the allies, including the murder by starvation of thousands of German POW's, it is not unreasonable to speculate that these attacks on Switzerland are partially based on guilt. Swiss banks published prior to the suits brought in American courts lists of every single dormant account that they were able to locate, the fact that over 70 percent of the names were non-Jews has been completely omitted in media coverage. There are also moral and legal questions relating to the rights of an independent state. Switzerland stands accused by the extortionists of not doing enough, of not showing sufficient compassion, for those who suffered in the holocaust. Well rubbish. First the holocaust had nothing whatever to do with Switzerland. Second Switzerland did more than it's share in helping victims, refugees, providing altered identification papers particularly for Jews. It was the Swiss Red Cross which oversaw military internment camps, it was the Swiss Red Cross which delivered Red Cross packages to POW's. It was the Swiss who oversaw the rules of warfare in the Geneva convention. This then bring us to FDR's confiscation of Swiss moneys sent to the United States in 1940 for safe keeping. Switzerland , which had the best spy network in Europe had people in the German General staff, and through them learned of operation Tannenbaum. It was therefore deemed prudent to send a substantial amount of gold to the United States so as to keep it out of the hands of the Nazis. This particular theft is totally overlooked by the extortionists, who would be hard pressed to demand the return of their property from the American government and that of others listed. So the time has finally arrived at which we can begin to examine the money trail. [19] The CIA had become interested in various funds located in Swiss banks, that were the property of various ex-Nazi's. It may be assumed that these funds were stolen from victims of concentration camps, 52% of which were Jews. It was presumed by the American government in 1948 that most camp internees who had perished in the camps had no heirs and that any such funds which were untraceable (as to individual ownership) 17 were available for the taking. Please bear in mind that during the operation of the Third Reich it was illegal for a German citizen to transfer funds, and even insurance policies, out of Germany, for this reason it may be assumed that all these funds belonged to higher up Nazis. The CIA operation to retrieve those funds was called operation Schakal (Jackal). It commenced in November 11, 1948. All amounts in SFr. So we see that these funds were partitioned up as follows: 50% to the CIA; first 1/3 then 5% Gehlen which was a CIA operation, then %5 W. Kirch, who worked for the Gehlen organization, and 10% to ODESSA. 30% to Mueller who uncovered the accounts, and a healthy 20% pay-off to the bankers who's coerced and blackmailed cooperation allowed funds to be repatriated to the wrong people. Do not suffer the delusion that this was the only instance of such action, in fact an entire pattern of theft by the allies of dormant and transferred to the USA accounts exists. 18 As previously mentioned FDR confiscated substantial funds which had been transferred to the United States by Swiss banks. These funds consisted in the main of deposits from foreign ( Non Swiss about 50% from Jews) depositors, and were transferred to the US for save keeping in 1940. On June 14, 1941 FDR ordered the US Treasury to confiscate the entire transfer of US $ just over 230 million in gold. For 1941 this was an extraordinary amount of money. Consider the transfer was made in gold, which the US wrongly valued at $ 32 per. Oz. This means that in real terms we are speaking of about US $ 2 billion under today's values. When individuals, and Swiss banks attempted to have these funds repatriated to their rightful owners the US Treasury Department informed them in 1946, that "We consider these as dormant accounts which according to US law after five years of inactivity becomes the property of the US government". Out of the total money stolen only $ 500 thousand was ever returned to the rightful owners. This is surely a event in history of which we Americans can all be proud of. [20] It further demonstrates exactly how wrong the extortion acts against Swiss banks are, and exactly where the extortionists should be looking. Switzerland has become the whipping boy of the Jewish lobby, and one must only wonder where all the Jews who own their lives to Swiss action, in Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, and other nations, are in this matter. One also wonder why the Jews are the only people to espouse this victimization, when after all they represent about half of the total concentration camp population and deaths. I for one have not heard a single word from any of them. The statements by an American Senator of Italian decent ( who's relatives in Italy were probably Facisti) that the Swiss were willing collaborators and friendly toward the Nazis is outrageous. Switzerland was the only nation in Europe to outlaw the Nazi party, as well as all Nazi front organizations. It was the only nation totally surrounded. It was the only nation to withstand Nazi aggression on the European continent. And lastly unlike Italy it was not a member of the Axis. While I was in Zurich during the war we subsisted on strict rationing of all food products which included * lb. of meat, and one quart of milk per week, among other items. The only reason we got milk is because I was a child. In 1944-45 some 32,000 Jews in Hungary owned their lives to some very courageous Swiss diplomats and their wives. Swiss Consul Karl Lutz who together with his staff gave asylum to 3600 people in Budapest and provided falsified Swiss paper to another 17,000 persecuted Hungarian Jews. [21] As a American of Swiss heritage I am waiting with baited breath for some of the over 450,000 total people saved by Swiss intervention from the Nazis to speak up for us. When the General as head of the security of the project insisted that they be removed he was personally relived of command by FDR. [15] Eleanor Roosevelt's sex partner was Malvina Thompson her personal secretary for 31 years. She however had numerous other encounters, and many with communist friends.
