As I am sure you are aware most federal employees do not pay into the social Security rip-off. In fact no member of congress either the senate or the house pays one single cent into social security. Ever since FDR's great SS rip-off was instituted all federally elected officials have been exempt from it. They all knew from day one that it was a monumental lie. Social Security was not suitable for them and therefore they have not paid into it, and will not collect the pittance the rest of us get as our SS benefit. They instead are on a special plan, which continues to pay their salary even after they are out of office. They voted themselves this privilege after just one term in office. You see the constitution is quite clear on pay raises; they are not permitted to be given those in office. Our founding fathers never intended for elected public servants to be permanent or to have any pensions, so the constitution is mute on that issue. Their plan is simple; when they leave office and then retire at 62 they continue to draw the same pay as if they were still elected legislators, naturally including cost of living increases. Just exactly how much does this cost us? Estimating average live spans actuaries inform us that the average retirement benefit of legislator and their spouses will draw around 7.9 million dollars over their life span. Well not exactly because they don't have SS they are not in Medicare or Medicaid, but they have corrected that omission by voting themselves lifetime medical service for them their spouses and children to age 25 for the tidy sum of $ 380.00 and change per year. One asks the obvious question; why don't we hear anything from the media, or a single federal legislator on this issue? Good question. Your author is on SS that some weird people refer to as a benefit. Let's examine this in a factual manner. When you write the SS administration for a statement of your "benefits" they will tell you how many months you have accrued, and the projected payment at 65. Well not exactly, they neglect to mention that your employer has had to match your tax deductions every quarter. They also neglect to pay any interest on the retained by them amount you and your employer paid in for you. My total SS check is $ 1,104.00 per month. I have been self-employed for my entire live so not only did I pay the maximum in SS taxes for myself, I also paid the employers portion, i.e. double every month. I began earning income at age 14 and paid in for over 35 years. They even collect form me when I was in the Army earning $104.00 plus $ 14.00 overseas pay and a few dollars pro-pay. Last year I spoke to a friend of mine who is an actuary and inquired as to what my benefit would have been if I had paid the same amount to a private insurance carrier deposited as an annuity. $4,380.00 per month guaranteed with the remaining residual amount after death paid my heirs. If I drop dead tomorrow my wife gets a big $380.00 for burial benefit, fat fed gov. keeps the rest. When I went to our local SS office to apply they asked me if I had been in the military, because if I had the benefit would be higher. They then told me I would get an additional $2.00 for my service to the state. I suggested that if they were that broke perhaps they should not insult me and keep it. Now a comparison between my congressman and me is an interesting exercise. He is projected to get $7.9 million, in order for me to obtain about the same benefit I would have to live to the age of 658. Not being a biblical saint I don't think I'll make it. Now there is a lot of talk about "FIXING" Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Fixing this problem is rally simple remove all the benefits pensions and free medical services given our elected officials and put them on SS. I'm confident that the problems would be fixed in no time! Since I'm in this bitching mode I also don't understand why retired presidents need Secret Service protection, $380,000 offices, and free medical service. It is after all public knowledge that Carpet Baggers Hillary & Bill Clinton in order to establish NY residency (in violation of the state constitution) (1) Purchased with help from friends a up-scale residence in Chappaqua for a couple of million dollars. They are now paying off the mortgage through a rent payment to the Secret Service charged for living on an outhouse on the estate. (1) NY State law requires a 9 month residency to run for the senate she missed by several months. Page URL: http://www.kriegbooks.com/the_parasites.html |
