No person in America to my knowledge has opposed Israel's right to self-defense! The questions that beg response however have absolutely nothing to do with self-defense and everything to do with Israel's desire to see the "Greater Israel" myth come to fruition. The wall that is under illegal construction voted so by a 14 to one majority of the International court of Justice has nothing to do with security or the prevention of attacks on Israel. In fact the lone vote against the Court's decision was from an American Jew justice on the court. What does the wall do? And what are the issues? Security and safety of Israel's population is not the issue, as this document will attest to. If Israel wants a wall to protect itself and deludes its citizens that this will increase their national security and integrity, fine let them build the wallÉbut let them build it in Israel not in Palestine. What the International Court has said is that Israel is in violation of international law by building a barrier outside Israel on other peoples land, and in the process is destroying communities, farms, businesses, and preventing Palestinians access to their own mosques, hospitals their workplaces, and churches, and schools. In that process they are also destroying homes, and public buildings. The wall, which in places is many miles inside of the West Bank, converts over 50 Kibbutzim (Jewish communist farm or agrarian co-operatives) from being inside Palestine to being in Israel. Several Palestinian Villages, Bethlehem primarily Christian, and Qalqilya primarily Islam are completely surrounded by the wall and have very limited access; in Qalqilya with a population of over 30,000 there is only one gate and it is locked and guarded by the IDF every night. From an examination of the map of the planned construction, which was published in National Geographic, it is obvious that this wall is designed more like a series of cages than a "fence" as is claimed by Israel's defender at the court. The closer the wall comes to Israel's real borders the more constricted the Wall gets. What this wall in fact accomplishes is to ghettoize all of Palestine; the very pretense that Jews have complained as the Muslims and Christians acts against them. To further their goals the Israelis are planning and have begun construction of highways linking the remaining 150 plus Kibbutzim in Palestine containing barriers. This entire process will so fragment Palestine as to make a Palestinian state impossibility, the original plan in the first place. While on the diplomatic front Israel pretends magnanimous concession, they in reality have the national long range plan to force all Palestinians off their lands so that they can realize the beginning of their "Greater Israel" plan. To further prove this Israel has prevented all of Palestine from having an airport or seaport. The Sharon government has been since day one continuing the 37-year illegal (over 70 UN resolutions) occupation of Palestine (the reason of all the animosity), strangled the Palestinian economy, prevented Palestinian exports, cut them off from their institutions, and degraded them at every opportunity. This is the process by intimidation through which they hope to make life so impossible for the Palestinian population to get them to leave their homeland so that they can steal it. I have traveled widely in South Africa under apartheid, and likewise in Israel and Palestine, and I can tell you from first hand knowledge that what the Israeli's do the Palestinians makes the South Africa apartheid look like a Sunday picnic. Forth generation war which our 3 second media has named terrorism is a two way street. Terrorism is the result of desperation. People do not commit political suicide in a healthy and happy community. The cause of the action by Christian as well as Muslim Arabs against Israel is founded in the illegal occupation of Palestine by Israel. This has continued unabated for 37 years with no end in sight. Israel contends the, The West Bank and Gaza are "disputed lands" well if that's the case they cannot have it only one-way. Israel then is also "disputed Lands". And if I have a dispute with my neighbor on ownership of land I cannot simply build a wall on his property incorporating it with mine, this is what the court said and they are absolutely right in their adjudication.
