Release Martha Stewart Now!

Let me start out by saying that I have never met Martha Stewart, and all that I really know about her is that she is an extremely capable and very successful woman. I can however tell you that this case has implication for every American. It is the application of selective enforcement by members of the judicial branch of government against a law-abiding taxpayer that I find so very troubling.

Martha was charged with selling some stock because her broker told her that the president of that company was selling his. Having investments myself and utilizing the services of a stockbroker I am of the persuasion that this is his job. I pay him based on commissions, which I am glad to pay for his diligence in looking out for my investments. How is that a crime? Insider trading charges on any account are rubbish, it is what brokerage houses, banks, and stockbrokers do all the time. Its how they earn a living. Does such a tip provided to an investor hurt anyone? The answer is of course not it is a victimless transaction. So why is it prosecuted? This is a burning question particularly when viewed from the perspective of score of corporate hoodlums of the Enron, Quest, Global Crossing, Tyco, and WorldCom, and individuals like I Boesky, A Somer's, J Guberman, and A. Fastow, verity who not only ruined companies and lives but also stole billions to line their own pockets and are not incarcerated anyplace!

The second charge was that she lied to a bureaucrat, heaven forbid! If I had a dollar for every time a government employee, especially from the IRS lied to me or misinformed me I could retire. What's worse on this issue is the consideration of; Clinton who lied not to some petty government worker he lied to congress and then to the entire nation. And then we have Bush the Lesser that spends so much time feeding us misinformation (BS) one is hard put to keep up with it. Yellowcake from Niger, mobile weapons labs, nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, bacteriological weapons, missiles, associations with terrorist groups,Éhey the list is endless. I certainly don't see anyone form the Justice Department coming after Bush or Clinton. To make matters worse both political parties support NAFTA and then claim the high ground in job creation NAFTA is responsible for the loss of over 3 million jobs and over 2000 manufacturing plans, thus both parties and both presidential candidates lie insistently.

Now the third charge is that she conspired with someone else to lie to the investigators. Well we have a full-blown conspiracy here. Or do we? What we have in fact is just another crooked government lie. Douglas Faneuil was a broker's assistant; it is from him that we have the testimony against Martha. But surprise surprise Doug under charges by the very same investigator reversed his testimony and surprise was let go by the investigators when he changed his testimony it in favor of their case. The Judge should have thrown both the prosecutor and the witness out of court.

Was this jury brain dead? I very strongly guess that this is the case. Did Maratha commit a crime? No she did not. Is it a crime to sell a property that you suspect will lose value, if it is every person reading this article belongs in jail.

Martha claims she had a stop order on the stock in question. I have often used stop orders when I suspected that the investment posed a risk. Any investor with a modicum of common sense does that.

One of the really troubling charges is the one of conspiracy. The CFR is an organization in NYC that has about 3,400 members. Their membership holds every single cabinet post and all the Joint Chiefs of Staff; in addition they have a stranglehold on the Department of State. Many senators are members as are congressmen. They have held these positions in every government both Republican and Democrat since the 1930's. Now this is a conspiracy! When will we see the minions of the Justice Department on 68th street at the Pratt House to arrest the principles of the CFR? If our entire government is run by a conspiracy then why is it wrong for Martha to ask her broker to sell a losing stock?

This entire case should have been thrown out on the first day by the judge. But then we know how judges are promoted and running counter to the wishes of the head of the Justice Department is not going to endear you in those quarters. Frankly the government had and has no case. There only witness changed testimony the day he was granted immunity from prosecution an action that is more than just transparent.

It is the prosecutors who should be placed on trial. This is America in the 21st century. A nation in which government might makes right. Where anyone who opposes the established "System" can be charged with anything. A nation in which law is written and enacted at the rate of over 80,000 pages a year.

What we can gleam from this is that government flunkies can make up stories and fiction and then present it to a willing and cooperating media that will then disperse that false information without so much as a reflective glance to their public. That public then consumes this in the form of worthless sound bites as gospel. Thus another good man or woman's life livelihood and business are destroyed most likely because some vile envious state employee hated them for being successful.
